I am a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with a passion for all forms of music. I grew up along the Gulf Coast of the southern United States, soaking in all of the musical culture that region of the world has to offer. My guitar, harmonicas, voice, and other instruments have taken me across the UK, Europe, and North America. I am humbled and grateful that I can perform and collaborate with talented artists of various genres. Below is some of my own work and tracks that I was featured on.
Ben Joseph and the Lay Lows
The Lay Lows is one of my original music projects. If you like country-blues harmonica coupled with upbeat, dance your ass off rock n’ roll then this is your jam. I meld my music experiences, from playing harmonica in Cajun-country bands to shredding electric guitar in hip-hop groups, to create a live show that is drenched in country, blues, rock and soul. My first album Two Tickets Please can be found on all streaming platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, etc.
The group consists of a line-up of different musicians from across the globe. I’m currently recording my second album The Burns, which will be released in the near future. Below are some performances and songs. Enjoy!
Performance of “Weigh Me Down” in London, UK
Song “Where’s Your Faith?”
This is probably the heaviest song from my first album Two Tickets Please.
Song “Mobile Blues in Selma”
This song represents my experiences with performing throughout the southern US in my early performing career.
I played harmonica on this track. Peter Conway is one my favourite singer/songwriters and I’m honoured to call him a friend. We recorded this at a gig in Islington, London. Enjoy!
I collaborate with artists of every genre. Here’s another track I played harmonica on. Dappa is one of the best rappers to come out of New Orleans. If you like hip hop, you’ll love this.
